Falmouth High Street was bustling this weekend, with pictures shared of police heading to the town ahead of the G7, circus acts, and flags looking bright along the high street.

Images were shared of the huge MS Silja Europa docking in Falmouth, a ferry set to house over 1,000 police officers during the G7 summit between the 11th and 13th of June.

More than 5,000 extra officers on top of 1,500 from the force are expected in Cornwall to help police the summit of world leaders.

Stilt walkers in Cornish-themed costumes from Higher Beings Circus doing high street walkabouts (on stilts, weather and terrain permitting) also took to the town this weekend.

This is part of a program organised by Cornwall Council covering a number of Cornwall's towns.

It aims to encourage people to use their local businesses, but at the same time to reinforce in a fun and entertaining way the need for everybody to maintain social distancing.
