There have been reports of further covid cases in the local area with more businesses announcing temporary closures.

The Front, based on Custom House Quay, Muddy Beach Cafe, in Penryn and Falmouth Bookoos have closed after staff members reported positive covid tests.

"We thank you all for your continued support at the pub and we will reopen when we are safe to do so. The date for reopening is Saturday 19th June," a spokesperson for The Front said.

The two most recent closures follow the news earlier in the week that Penryn pub The Thirsty Scholar was closing for 10 days, also due to covid.

Muddy Beach said in a statement:

"We thank you all for your continued support and we are just battling this horrible storm. We will re-open Muddy when it is safe to do so after 10 days.

"It's been a bit of a crazy week with staffing issues, and now this. However, we will get through this and will see you all soon."
