Plans to extend Falmouth McDonald's have been knocked back again as there is not enough information on how they will deal with traffic in the area.

As reported in January, the company with their restaurant on Dracaena Avenue applied to make alterations to elevations to include two extensions with aluminum cladding. The relocation of the entrance door with a new shopfront and new access door.

The application was recommended refusal due to highways issues, with Cornwall Council also refusing the plans on multiple other occasions.

At a meeting of Falmouth Town Council's planning committee last night (14th), the committee voted again to recommend refusal of the plans as there was not enough information in the plans on how the expansion will impact traffic congestion in the area.

Councillor Steve Eva commented:

"I haven't got enough information to pass this. Therefore we can't defer it because we are then out of time. I recommend refusal on lack of information and highways issues.

"If you are losing 14 square meters of parking space. That means it puts 14 square meters of cars back out into the road which blocks off that route. I cannot support this with the amount of information we've got."

The application will now go to Cornwall Council where a final decision will be made.
