Residents in Falmouth, Penryn, and Cornwall have been urged to continue wearing face coverings in crowded spaces.

The advice was issued by Cornwall Council, as restrictions are set to change from Monday, 19th June.

The changes will impact social distancing, restaurants and pubs, weddings, and holidays.

In a statement from County Hall, they advised residents to continue to wear a face-covering in potentially crowded and confined areas when restrictions are eased.

A spokesperson for Cornwall Council commented:

"This includes public transport so when you're travelling by bus, train or taxi, or if you are a young person over the age of eleven travelling on dedicated school transport, the safe choice is to wear a face-covering to protect yourself and others.

"If you can, please plan your journey to try to avoid busy times. The bus companies will be doing their bit by keeping buses well ventilated and clean with signs encouraging passengers to wear a face-covering unless exempt.

"In line with government advice, GWR will expect people to wear a face-covering when onboard trains and throughout the station environment.

"Cornwall Airport Newquay will also request that passengers wear a face-covering in the airport terminals."
