The owners of Oggies, Rebecca and John Frankiss, have opened a brand new cafe and deli at Bank Place - The Cornish Kitchen.

Rebecca and John are in their fourth summer at the helm of Oggies, embracing the pasty culture, and now branching out into something new showcasing their passion for Cornish food.

The space used to be occupied by Spice & Ice before its closure, and when the shop became available they saw it as a perfect opportunity to expand their operation.

They recognised the potential for a large outdoor seating area, an added space for their current cafe just a few doors down.

The new shop, The Cornish Kitchen, specialises in local produce, with their own freshly baked bread, Montreal style bagels, local wines, olives from Spain, coffee and tea, and a small menu for eat in or take away.

Sat out in the wonderful outdoor seating area in the sun, Rebecca told Nub News:

"We have our menu here but inside you can do your groceries, we have eggs and milk, sliced meats and cheeses, olives, flavoured pasta, truffle oil, and much more.

"We are partnering with Patrick's Patch at the moment who grows our salads, we are trying to expand to add a more greengrocer element as well.

"We didn't have any intention of expanding, this just became available and it was perfect, it gels perfectly with the other shop."

The Cornish Kitchen is open Monday-Sunday 9am-5pm.
