A Falmouth cafe has issued an emotional farewell to the town following its closure.

The cafe, Tea By The Sea, based on Church Street has been up for sale for a little while but due to the coronavirus pandemic finding a buyer has been "near impossible."

In a statement on social media, the cafe said it was extremely sad to say goodbye.

A spokesperson for Tea By The Sea said:

"We have discussed and thought long and hard about alternate options, but because of our size and covid restrictions, it is clear we will be unable to reopen.

"We would like to thank all our lovely and loyal customers for all your support over the last six years.

"We are extremely sad to be saying goodbye, but excited for the next chapter of our Cornish adventure."
