Community Heart, a local charitable organization, has launched an emergency fundraiser in the aim of providing family-sized vegetable boxes to those in need.
Robin Markland, the creator of Community Heart, wants to give families in need the ingredients to cook nutritious meals while self-isolating.
Every twenty pound donated will supply a full vegetable box, which will come with enough ingredients for a whole week.
Community Heart is making sure that each box will be sized individually, depending on each specific need, as to not allow any waste.
The community organisation is working with other volunteering groups to help deliver the boxes around the town while maintaining all current safeguarding measures.
Robin Markland told Nub News:
'Its time for those who are in a position to do so, to rise up and make a difference.
"Falmouth is blessed with many brilliant organisations. It's essential that Community Heart, along with other movements, continue to be innovative, adaptable and use their skills, talent and resources to provide during this global crisis."
Community Heart is currently in the process of setting up a Community Fundraising shop, which will house a community fridge.
As well as a Community Orchard in Falmouth, which has been put on hold for the time being due to the pandemic.
Robin spoke about the organisation's plans for once the virus has died down, he said:
"We will support the ongoing and evolving needs of vulnerable people to ensure that their health and wellbeing is maintained.
"With free support such as Counselling and Relaxation and Meditation sessions to help people recover from the Pandemic."
