A Falmouth man partnered with The Levellers at their sold-out gigs this weekend to raise awareness for his newly started charity.

Robin Markland quit his job as a photographer to focus all of his time on Community Heart, a charity which aims to provide a fundraising shop which will house a community fridge and be a hub for the people who need it most.

The charity also aims to eventually provide a community orchard in Falmouth.

The shop is the lead of the initiative, which will take in donated items and sell them to generate profits to fund the community fridge and orchard.

Robin Markland told Nub News:

"The Levellers actually approached me about this as they had heard about my organisation on ITV news. Hopefully, it will be a long-lasting partnership with them.

"We are hoping to open the shop by this coming Spring.

"We are really lucky in Falmouth to have such a great sense of community. It is becoming an incredible town, with the skatepark coming and the new amazing stage in Kimberley Park."

The bassist of The Levellers, Jeremy Cunningham, surprised Robin with a work of art he had made, which illustrates their partnership and will be hung on the wall of the shop.

The Levellers played at the Princess Pavillion, with a third night added due to high demand.

The fundraiser has already amassed over £1000 towards its total goal of £8000.
