Police have issued an appeal following a collision between a cyclist and a car near Penryn yesterday (25th).

The incident, involving a red Peugeot, occurred at around 2:30pm on Trenoweth Lane, Mabe Burnthouse.

The road was closed as emergency teams worked on the scene - to clear it and understand what happened.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall police revealed further details this morning saying:

"The driver, a 23-year-old female, was uninjured and the cyclist, a 73-year-old male, sustained serious injuries and is receiving treatment in hospital.

"Officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team conducted an investigation at the scene to establish the cause of the collision."

Police are appealing for any witnesses who were in the area at the time to get in touch by calling 101 or via email at [email protected] quoting log number 416, 25/11/20.
