Boslowick Barbers Sarrelle McCann has been picked in the running for British Masters Barbers Barber Of The Year.

Only 10 entries were selected out of 118 with Sarrelle saying it feels "amazing" to be recognised amongst such a talented group of barbers.

This year British Master Barbers were looking for "magazine front page quality" submissions running an online entry only event due to coronavirus - with Sarrelle using her stepson Ryan to model the cut.

Ellie told Nub News:

"It's taken a few months to decide on the cut, style, and the look and feel you are going for.

"Unable to get a makeup artist and photographer because of social distancing proved a real problem through lockdown.

"Researching was the main preparation and learning new techniques for makeup. I decided that my stepson Ryan would be the obvious choice.

"He has the most fantastic hair that suits the particular style l had chosen. So with some input from my daughter Ocea regarding the makeup, l did the hair, makeup and photos myself.

"I am a British Master Barber, this competition is only open to members and l am so delighted to have got this far. We are all winners."

The winner is set to be announced very soon, you can follow the competition on the British Master Barbers social media pages.
