Falmouth's upstairs games bar, The Games Room, have spoken to Nub News following their reopening announcement.

Unlike many other establishments in the area, the bar will not be opening their doors to the public until July 15th.

"We would love to be open before then, but we need to make sure your return to us is a safe one," The Games Room said.

The bar has been closed since March 19th and in light of government's announcement, can now look forward to reopening as safely as possible.

Kathy St Quintin, Manager at The Games Room, told Nub News:

"We hope to be able to offer the same great atmosphere and fun, but with a few changes to make it as safe as possible for our customers and staff.

"You can expect table service and contactless payments with each table sanitised after use.

"Pool and snooker balls and cues will be sanitised after each use as well as all other table games."

The Games Room told us that they will be managing their capacity and will introduce a separate entrance and exit, to help maintain strict social distancing.

Opening hours will also be shortened:

Monday - Friday: 4pm - 11pm

Weekends: 12pm - 11pm

Kathy added: "It's been sad seeing the space empty but we're excited to see our customers again."

The bar features 9 pool tables, 2 snooker tables, 2 table tennis tables, air hockey, a shuffle board, darts and bar games.
