The Boathouse

Dear friends,
Following the most recent government announcement, The Boathouse is delighted to announce we will be reopening our (multiple) doors again from the 4th of July.
A full risk assessment has been carried out, with staff training based on the new regulations. Things are going to be different around here, so here's what you can expect;
Firstly we do ask if you have any concerns for your own safety or are showing any COVID-19 symptoms to please stay away from the pub, and come back when you feel it is safer to do so. Otherwise we look forward to welcoming you into The Boaty once more!
We will be operating a one way system throughout the pub, beginning with the entrance on Trevethan Hill (our usual front door). You will then be greeted and given a choice of internal/external seating, depending on availability. When exiting the building you must leave through the bottom door onto the patio. There will be signage and markings on the floor throughout to guide you.
There is an additional new door on Beacon street to access the toilets and safe queueing area only. The toilets will have a one-in-one-out system and will be unisex.
There are sanitising stations at several locations throughout the pub and ask that you make sure to thoroughly sanitise your hands on entering the building, before and after using the toilets and if you have touched your face or any fixtures and fittings etc.
We will also be asking for contact details from each household, to be kept on the premises for 21 days. This information will only used in the event that the NHS requires it. This is new government policy and we ask that you understand and comply with this additional measure.
You will be able to join with one other household inside the building and up to six others outside, as long as safe social distancing is adhered to - the staff will be monitoring and advising where necessary. There will be takeaway cups available for those queueing or wishing to hang out in park over the road as well. Please be respectful of our neighbours, be responsible for your own litter and maintain social distancing guidelines at all times.
We will be introducing an ordering app, but fear not technophobes, as we will be providing table service alongside this. It will not be possible to order at the bar at this time.
In order to adapt to our new way of working, we will not be taking bookings for at least the first month. This will also enable us to make full use of the limited tables we now have.
We will be serving a slightly limited food menu, including open sarnies alongside some of our old favourites! We will have many of the beverages you have long awaited back on the bar, plus some new additions to spice thing up!
Please be respectful to the staff, (who will be working even harder than usual running up and down all those stairs and trying to keep you all under control) and respectful of the new rules we have put in place - we didn't make them but they exist for all our safety!
The Boathouse will be open from midday on Saturdays and Sundays, and from 4pm Monday to Friday - but keep your eyes peeled for extended opening hours over the summer holidays!
See you all very soon!
