Tree Day at Princess Pavilion
Princess Pavilions
UNTIL Sunday 23rd January
Everyone's planting saplings in response to climate & ecological emergency, but mature trees - which hold more carbon, host more wildlife and hold the land intact in ever increasing floods - are still being cut down. This makes no sense at all.
Come and learn & share art, science, official & community actions to look after mature trees. Stalls and films about trees and tree protection in the lobby. Talks on the Medicine of Trees, on Ancient Trees, and more in the Garden Room, kids craft activities etc etc et...
At the core of the day is a new and FREE Falmouth Town Council 'Tree Champion' training, led by Cllr. Alan Rowe, former tree protection officer with Cornwall Council & other experts.
Learn to monitor planning applications, prepare requests for Tree Protection Orders, keep an eye on your local street trees & much more. Please note this training requires your full attendance at all sessions in the main hall from 11AM till around 3PM; please contact Cllr. Alan Rowe to register your place (numbers capped at 40). Other attendees of the event can drop in to the training to listen and learn, though please be aware we have a lot to get through so non-trainee questions and conversations are best kept to the garden room, lobby and bar area. Thank you!
Bring your talks, stalls, films, woodwork, crafts, there will be baby trees to plant.. ..do you or your colleagues, family, friends have something to offer at this event? If so, please do get in touch, and we will add more info on this event page as contributions come in.. Looking forward to Treeing with you.
