On Sunday the 12th of March the 11th Run Falmouth half marathon will take place, raising money for Cornwall Hospice Care, a charity that helps those coping with a terminal illness.

The race is arranged and managed by Cornwall Hospice Care in collaboration with the Falmouth Road Runners, they said in previous years that the money raised has made a huge difference in keeping beds open and nurses caring.

As of today (8th March), the current total raised for this year's half marathon is £6.086, organisers say that every £20 raised will fund one hour of nursing care in your local hospice.

Although the deadline to register to run has passed you can still cheer on runners or donate, you can find the just giving page here: Run Falmouth 2023

This year the race is being supported by the Princess Pavilion, they have donated the space as a start, finish, and general event space. This means there has been a slight adjustment to the route which will now begin on Cliff Road.

The organiser for the event gave an update on the new route, they said: "Runners will head towards the Falmouth Hotel, and around Pendennis Headland, then picking up the usual route out towards Maenporth and Mawnan Smith, before returning to the finish line outside Princess Pavilion on Cliff Road where runners will be presented with their medal."

The event will start at 10:00 am and finish around 2:00 pm, runners who haven't finished in time will be allowed to carry on but marshals and volunteers may have left their posts.
