Jubilee celebrations in Falmouth.

This year, Her Majesty The Queen celebrates 70 years on the throne and this momentous occasion will be celebrated with a series of global events.

Falmouth will be hosting a number of different activities to mark this auspicious occasion over the Jubilee weekend, 4 – 5 June 2022.

Beacon Lighting at Pendennis Castle.

There is a long and unbroken tradition in the UK of celebrating Royal Jubilees, Weddings and Coronations with the lighting of beacons and this Platinum Jubilee is no exception! Pendennis Castle will be hosting the beacon lighting on Thursday 2nd June to officially start the Jubilee celebrations. Here is the schedule for the event:

08:30pm The grounds to the Castle will open free to the public (please note that the buildings will be closed except for toilets and the shop)

09:00pm The Nankersey Male Choir will perform

09:20pm The Mayor, Steve Eva will say a few words

09.30pm The Beacon will be lit by the Mayor and the Nankersey Male Choir will perform again.

FRIDAY 3RD JUNE

Mayor's Jubilee Parade Through Town – Leaving The Moor at 12.30pm and ending at Events Square. All welcome.

Tea Party at The Princess Pavilion – Starting at 2.30pm

This event is ticketed and will be open to 250 people on a first come, first serve basis. The event is hosted by The Mayor and attendees will receive a cream tea followed by dancing with live music from The Nighthawks who'll be playing traditional 1940s style music.

SATURDAY 4TH JUNE

Falmouth Street Party – Starting at 1pm in Market Street

Come and join in the fun at this traditional style street party taking place on Market Street, Falmouth from 1pm – 4pm! The event is predominantly for children and their parents/guardians and is free to attend. Tickets can be booked here – Event Brite Ticket Link

Taking place along the length of Market Street, there'll be a sea of Union Jacks, colourful bunting along with entertainment and fun Jubilee party crowns. There'll be some seating available but in true British street party style, please bring along your own small chair or stool if you have one. We won't have enough seating for everyone. 

The event is aimed to bring friends and families together in one place so you can celebrate in this unique setting. With this in mind, catering will be a mix of bring your own picnic, with some food provided. Please note, we can't cater for specific allergies at the event.

There will be cocktail pasties, sausage rolls, delicious cakes and cookies. Thank you to Rowes Cornish Bakers for supporting the event.

SUNDAY 5TH JUNE

Jubilee Picnic in The Park – Hosted by Source FM, Kimberley Park

Why not bring your picnic and come and listen to some live music in Kimberley Park to round off the Jubilee weekend. Thank you to Source FM for hosting this afternoon.
