In collaboration with Shaggies Amsterdam, we are organising an exclusive introduction to tufting workshop!

Tufting is a textile technique where you can make a shaggy rug by hand. By means of a punch needle machine, called a tufting gun, you push wool into a stretched cloth. By working with different colors, a beautiful pattern/drawing or abstract shape can be created. Tufting is a great crafting technique; textile art with a natural, organic look. It's like painting with yarn!

During this workshop you will learn:

- How the tufting gun works and what effects you can achieve with it

- What is the difference between the punch needle technique and tufting

- Which fabrics you can use

- What types of yarn you can use

- How to finish your design perfectly (shaving/cutting/gluing/framing)

What kind of design can you chug?

For the introductory workshop, we ask you to keep your design as simple as possible and to use a maximum of three colours. What works well for an A3 format are large surfaces and geometric shapes. Don't make it too difficult for yourself. If you do, I'm here to help!

What do you get?

- Your own rug! (size A3)

- A DIY kit to finish it yourself (glue, fabric and instructions)

- 10% Discount on your own tufting gun

- Coffee, tea, water and snacks **

Tickets: £100 via Eventbrite
