It was a marvellous March for members of the Penryn College U13 girl's cricket squad - who won Indoor Area and County Tournament titles over a fantastic two-week spell at the Cornwall Cricket Centre, Truro College.

A memorable Area Tournament victory earned Penryn a spot in the subsequent County Tournament, where the team played some exceptional cricket to defeat Mounts Bay Academy (73-39), Brannel School (92-66), and Wadebridge School (63-57), winning a second competition in as many weeks.

And that success booked Penryn a place in last week's Cheltenham-based Indoor Regional Tournament, which saw the squad compete against international-level players and very narrowly miss out on a spot in the semi-finals of the competition.

Reflecting on the team's success, Penryn College PE Teacher, Cam Bidgood, said:

"The girls have played and trained exceptionally well, and we couldn't be prouder of their achievements. It's been wonderful to see all of their hard work pay off."
