Recently Falmouth School had a remote visit from Ofsted as part of their programme of data gathering on how schools have managed learning and welfare of students and staff during the spring lockdown and since returning in September.

Falmouth School was the first secondary in Cornwall to be visited and the first to be done remotely - with the findings said to be "all positive."

Cherilyn Mackrory, Member of Parliament for Truro and Falmouth has called today's announcement that the Magellan-Elcano 500 Series 2021 Tall Ships Race will be starting from Falmouth 'amazing news' for the town.

The maritime event will be the sixth time Falmouth has hosted the tall ships, with the inaugural one for the town being held in 1966, and the last one at the town held in 2014.

Businesses in Falmouth and Penryn can now sign up to be part of the new South West Cyber Resilience Centre (SWCRC), established to help businesses and charities better protect themselves against cybercrime.

The police led initiative, in partnership with the private sector and academia, is part of a network of centres being established across England and Wales to provide businesses with a free level of support, and an affordable way to access more bespoke cybersecurity services and consultancy.

The historic UK coastal town of Falmouth, Cornwall, has today (Wednesday 18th November) announced it will host the start of the prestigious Tall Ships Race in August 2021.

At its annual online conference, Sail Training International, the global organisers of Tall Ships events and races, endorsed Falmouth as the 'Race Start Partner' of this iconic race, one which will also commemorate 500 years since the first circumnavigation voyage around the world.
