The London Marathon takes place this Sunday the 23rd of April and Roz Schofield from Falmouth will be running it while raising money for Young Lives vs Cancer.

Young Lives vs Cancer is a charity that helps families find the strength to face everything cancer throws at them and helps in the fight against childhood cancer.

On the JustGiving page Roz explains why she selected the charity, she said: "A very dear school friend of mine, Hannah, is currently being supported by the charity after her daughter Arabella, aged 5, was diagnosed with cancer after being taken to the GP with suspected asthma.

"It is a very long road ahead for the whole family, and Young Lives vs Cancer have provided emotional and practical support for them as they deal with what has to be the worst news that any parent can hear.

"Little Arabella has had to undergo multiple biopsies, scans, emergency chemo and has months' worth of treatment ahead of her. She has started to lose her hair but is still smiling and being silly every day despite being so unwell."

Roz added that although times are tough right now if anybody is able to donate what they can it will help her get around the 26 miles, knowing she is helping to support her friend and every family that is dealing with such difficult circumstances by supporting the charity.
