A warning has been issued to Falmouth residents following a surge in coronavirus cases in the area.
Falmouth is split into three areas on the covid cluster map, the latest data showing 29 cases in Falmouth North, up by 21 on the previous week, 262.5%, 32 in Falmouth East, up by 26 on the previous week, 433.3% and in Falmouth West and South, 36, up by 22 on the previous week, 157.1%.
With the virus spreading quickly, people in Falmouth are being asked to follow the guidance – wash your hands regularly, use a face covering when physical distancing is not possible and try to keep your distance from those not in your household.
Cllr Sally Hawken, Cornwall Council's Portfolio Holder for Children, Wellbeing and Public Health, said:
"Following these simple steps could make a significant difference in reducing the transmission of Covid-19 and help protect you and your friends, colleagues and family from the virus."
Falmouth residents are being asked to take "extra care" as the figures show a sharp rise in covid-19 cases in the area.
Rachel Wigglesworth, Director of Public Health for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, added:
"If you have any of the main Covid-19 symptoms – a new continuous cough, a high temperature, or a loss of taste or smell, you must self-isolate and your household must continue to self-isolate while waiting for a test. You also must continue to isolate until you get your test results.
"Anyone who tests positive must self-isolate, along with all members of their household, whether they have symptoms or not."
