UPDATE: Police appeal for information following Penryn bomb threat

Police are making further enquiries following a bomb scare in Penryn yesterday.

Officers were called at around 11.10am after an item was found at the back door of Penryn Masonic Lodge in New Street.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:

"A 20-metre cordon was put in place while police made door-to-door enquiries and a Royal Navy Explosive Ordnance team attended and made the device, believed to be an improvised incendiary device, safe.

"Police are appealing to anyone who may have CCTV footage in the area of New Street and the B3292 to get in touch."

Anyone who has any information which could assist the ongoing investigation is asked to contact police on 101 or via email on [email protected] quoting crime reference CR/043871/20.
