Two people had to be rescued from a fire on Dracaena Avenue.

Emergency services were at Dracaena Avenue Falmouth after reports of smoke coming from a property.

A fire crew from Falmouth, police, and an ambulance were mobilised yesterday (12th) just after 1am with two people having to be rescued.

The fire was on the ground floor of a three-storey detached property, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus with thermal imaging cameras extinguished the blaze within a couple of hours.

The cause was believed to be accidental. Fortunately, the occupants had a working smoke alarm which made them aware of the fire.

Crews remained on the scene until around 3:30am - all persons were accounted for.
