A trio has been charged with conspiracy to import class A drugs into the UK, after being caught near Falmouth.

This was part of an investigation by officers from the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) closely supported by law enforcement partners.

As a result, Edward Duggin, aged 33, of Norris Way, Buntingford, Hertfordshire; Thomas Snell, aged 30, of no fixed abode, and Justine Romaraog of Talfourd Way, Redhill, Surrey, were charged on Friday 15th October.

They were arrested after a boat was intercepted last week on Thursday, shortly after 11am.

UK Border Force officers boarded the vessel off the coast of Falmouth.

An investigation was launched by officers from SEROCU, who were also assisted by the National Crime Agency, Devon and Cornwall Police, SWROCU, and Hampshire Constabulary.

They were all charged with one count of section 1 (1) of the Criminal Law Act 1977, namely conspiracy to import a class A controlled drug, namely cocaine, and fraudulently evading the prohibition on importation imposed by section 3 (1) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

They appeared at Southampton Magistrates' Court on Saturday (16th) and were remanded to appear at Southampton Crown Court on 15th November.
