Work continues on a cliff face slippage at the Quarry Car Park this week.

Due to a cliff face slip, the trees growing out of the cliff face are having to be removed, to prevent further slipping.

The trees are being taken out and undergrowth growing out of the cliff face is also being dug up.

One resident at Berkeley Path also lost their home to the slippage.

In details shared by Councillor David Saunby, he added:

"I have not seen the bare quarry face, since I was a young lad going to the then Falmouth Youth Club late 1950s, which used one of the remaining pre-fabricated school buildings."

There is no specific date yet as to when the work will be finished - but part of the car park will be sectioned off for the duration.

Cornwall Councillor for Falmouth Smithick Jayne Kirkham revealed more details, adding:

"I've had confirmation that the vegetation removal and works being done there are necessary because there have been landslips down the side of the Quarry and so there is a risk to people and property that needs to be made safe.

"Ecological surveys have been carried out to make sure the impact on wildlife is minimised as much as possible."
