Three Bath University students are walking around the South West Coastal Path from Minehead to Bath to raise money for charity.

Angus, Michael and James, who study Economics and Politics, are aiming to do the 547-mile walk in just thirty-one days.

It has been calculated that covering the walk will be the equivalent of climbing Mount Everest twice.

Angus's older brother, Ewan, tragically lost his battle with leukaemia just before his tenth birthday - the walk is to raise money for CLIC Sargent, the UK's leading cancer charity which provided essential support to Angus and his family during Ewan's battle.

Speaking to Falmouth Nub News, soon to be hiker, Michael Rea said:

"It's going to be tough, and as far from experienced walkers we're under no illusions that it's a huge challenge, but we've trained hard over the past 3 months and are confident we can do it.

"We'll have tough times along the way but we'll get through it together."

On the 6th August, the group will be passing through Falmouth on their travels and are looking for a place to stay.

"We are camping most nights throughout our journey, but have found it difficult to secure spaces in some locations due to the high demand this summer," Michael said.

"As a result, we're appealing for somewhere to stay, whether it be beds or a patch of grass to pitch our tents, on this night. One of our friends, also called James, is joining us from Falmouth for the final fourteen days of the walk, so we are appealing for space for four."

The three lads have already raised £5,700 for CLIC Sargent and they're determined to push on and raise as much as possible.

Michael added:

"So far, we have raised over £5,700, and have been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of communities like yours in helping us reach this point."
