The UK's Best Seaside Towns Revealed: How did Falmouth place?

More than 3,700 people entered a survey with Which? to decide the best seaside town/village.

The survey asked visitors to rate the beach, attractions, seafront and scenery, peace and quiet and value for money.

St Mawes secured the top spot for the best seaside destination, with visitors rating its 'quiet pleasures' above the need for tourist attractions like an amusement arcade.

How did Falmouth do?

Falmouth got an overall user score of 73%, putting it below Fowey with 74% and top placed St Mawes with 85%.

In the beach category, Falmouth was rated three out of five stars by visitors - putting it below Looe which got a respectable four out of five stars.

In the attractions category, Falmouth was rated four out of five stars by visitors - putting it above top place St Mawes which gained three stars.

In the scenery category, Falmouth gained five out of five stars by visitors.

In the peace and quiet category, Falmouth was rated three out of five stars - putting it below St Mawes which received five out of five stars.

In the value for money category, Falmouth gained three out of five stars - with the average hotel price at £125.
