The Town Council, in conjunction with the Falmouth Royal Navy Association, have been busy planning this year's Annual Acts of Remembrance.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic the Annual Service of

Remembrance on Sunday 8th November will be held at the War Memorial in Kimberley Park at 11am for invited guests only.

There will be no parade and the number of invited guests will be limited to 30 in line with the current government guidelines.

Members of the public are requested to observe social distancing and the current government guidelines of not gathering in groups of more than six.

Should any organisations or members of the public wish to lay a wreath they are welcome after the service.

The Town Council is hoping to film the service, which will be able to view on the Facebook page.

A spokesperson for Falmouth Town Council said:

"The first poppy laying will be held at the War Memorial in Kimberley Park on Saturday 24th October at 11am which again will be delivered in line with current government guidelines for invited Civic guests.

"On the 11th November, the Mayor and a small Civic party will meet on the Prince of Wales Pier to observe the two minutes silence.

"As with the Annual Service of Remembrance if any members of the public wish to observe the First Poppy Laying or two minutes silence they are requested to observe social distancing and the current

government guidelines of not gathering in groups of more than six."
