A new Falmouth spice-centric cafe which only got to open for a day due to the coronavirus lockdown has told Nub News they are reopening this Saturday (20th May).

Spice'n'Ice will be reopening its doors as a takeaway coffee, ice cream, milkshake and cake shop - mostly all of which will have an option to be spiced up.

Nicki Knuckey, the owner of Spice'n'Ice, told Nub News:

"I am just desperate to get back in there. It is such a scary time and I don't want to leave it too long when I haven't even been able to build up a regular client base."

The lockdown restrictions meant that Spice'n'Ice only had one days trading - which while Nicki said was a good first day, wasn't enough to build a confident brand in town.

"It was a great first day and people responded well to me. I just want that to continue," Nicki said.

The cafe will be serving a reduced menu of hot drinks, ice cream, milkshakes, doggy ice cream and cake to begin with - while building up feedback from the community.

Nicki continued:

"I want to take it slow, to begin with, people's opinions are important to me and the business.

"It seems silly to buy in lots of produce if the demand isn't there right now."

The spice-centric cafe will not be losing any of its hotness, however, serving a variety of spice-centric cafe options.

Some of the spice treats on offer:

  • Double Decker and Red Chilli Milkshake
  • Levi Roots and Mango Chilli Sorbet
  • White Chocolate and Chilli Milkshake
  • Peanut Butter and Banana Chilli Milkshake
  • Chilli Hot Chocolate
  • Double Decker and Chilli Brownies

Every product is available without hotness as well, Nicki wants to make it clear that the spice is a fun option for people to try and is not mandatory.

The cafe will begin with takeaway only and be open on Saturday and Sunday.

Nicki is taking social distancing measures seriously and will be taking orders and serving customers in a two-point system through the window and table in the door.
