The council has today announced that CORMAC's tree surgery teams will be removing trees in Gylly car park.

Due to 'the presence of several woody decay fungi' the council have said that a further larger tree will also have to be removed for public safety.

The council said:

"Fortunately the foresight of some colleagues has meant that there are a stand of younger pines which we are now nurturing so that they can be the future landmark trees to replace their larger counterparts."

They shared that some of these younger pines have unfortunately been the victims of vandalism and poisoning.
