StreetDraw24 is an annual drawing event that sees artists, students and art enthusiasts take to the streets of Falmouth over a 24-hour period.

This year it will take place from noon to noon, Friday 2nd to Saturday 3rd October. The work created will be exhibited at Falmouth's Poly to raise money for St Petroc's work with Cornwall's street homeless.

Helen Trevaskis, the organiser of StreetDraw24, said:

"StreetDraw24 is all about using what you're good at to do something good. The Poly has been our partner since the beginning and has helped StreetDraw24 get a name for itself. The exhibition that will take place at the Poly will showcase the work of all this year's streetdrawers and reminds us that organisations like the Poly help the community.

"Our theme this year is 'Back on the Streets?' in recognition of the impact the pandemic and lockdown is having on us all but particularly on those people without secure housing.

"We will be selling original drawings by this year's artists, hand-printed tote bags, and works by established local artists framed by Sullys Framing Ltd - another great supporter of StreetDraw24

to raise funds. We're really happy we can return to The Poly and help promote the great work done there - particularly now, given the difficulty for arts organisations and venues."

Anyone is welcome to take part in StreetDraw, whether for one quick drawing or over the full 24 hours. Information bags will be available to pick up from The Poly from 11am Thursday 1st October, and the exhibition will open in The Poly's Spring Gallery from 11am Thursday 8th October.

Sue Radmore, chair of The Poly, added:

"It's always a joy to see Falmouth's artistic community come together to create their wonderful exhibitions of street drawings to raise funds for such an important cause. Supporting local initiatives like StreetDraw is one of the many ways The Poly creates and supports the community, and we're so happy this year's exhibition is able to go ahead in line with the latest Covid guidance."
