A weather warning has been issued for the duration of this week with spray and wave overtopping possible in Falmouth and Penryn.

Flooding is possible over high tides from today, Monday 14th December to Friday morning, 18th December.

Force 7 to 8 south westerly winds and offshore wave heights up to 6m are forecast to coincide with high spring tides.

A yellow weather warning has been issued for Wednesday by the Met Office saying there is likely to be a, "spell of strong winds bringing the potential for disruption to travel and utilities."

The flood information service says:

"This may cause spray and wave overtopping, and minor flooding of quayside and low-lying land in certain locations including Penryn, Flushing, St Mawes and Mevagissey."

"Peak tide levels could be up to 600mm higher than published and flood warnings may be issued during this period. Tides peak on Wednesday morning. People are advised to stay away from risk areas and take care next to the coast."
