Community rallies behind Ships & Castles crowdfunder with initial target reached in one day
It was only yesterday we shared the announcement of the Ships and Castles Crowdfunder page being activated and today the group was delighted to find out they have already reached their first goal of £10,000.
The group shared the news on their Facebook page: "This success is such a tonic in uncertain times. The level of support in the community means we can move confidently onto the next step of lining up detailed plans, materials, and equipment that we will need."
To make sure the project was funded the group needed to raise at least £10,000 by the 31st of October, but with that target being reached in one day, its clear Pendennis Leisure and the rest of the community have no plans of stopping now, the group spoke about their next objective to reach on the site: "For now we will push on with the Crowdfunder, aiming for our stretch target of £25k. Please kindly keep asking your friends, families, churches, employers, and anyone else who might be interested in our vision of an eco-pool leisure centre on Pendennis headland to join our crowd."
With such a positive start Pendennis Leisure wanted to highlight how important it is for this campaign to keep picking up momentum: "At the beginning of the year we knew we would need a million over five years. Now, with the energy pricing, and the recommissioning costs, that'll be more like £1.5 million. The more the community can raise, the quicker we will be able to move forward and the less beholden we will be too uncertain funders."
