Serious assault, Redruth

Witnesses sought

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Redruth.

The incident was reported to have taken place at around 11.25pm on Saturday 1 June on Penryn Street, on the pavement by the old church.

The victim, a man in his 60s, was assaulted by a man who reported punched him, knocking him unconscious. He was taken to Treliske hospital to receive treatment for a serious head injury.

The offender was a white male, around 6ft tall, of normal build with short dark hair which was shaved around the back and sides. The offender was wearing a dark coloured short sleeved t-shirt, dark jeans and shoes. 

Police are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a light coloured convertible car which stopped and assisted the victim.
