Sea Glass Picture Workshop in Falmouth raising money for animal charities
On Friday the 21st of April there will be a sea glass picture workshop raising money for local animal charities at the Dracaena Centre from 10 til 12.
During lockdown, Rachel Jacklin discovered Seaglass on her local beach in Falmouth, Gylly. Rachael said she started to realise just how pretty the glass is and how many different colours there are.
Rachel explained how it started out as more of a hobby but kept on growing, she said: "I decided to create some pictures initially just friends and family to keep me busy, then I decided to create a website and sell them online.
"The website was very popular and I decided to donate 20% of my profits to Cornwall Seal Sanctuary. I also create dog portraits from local beach finds and sometimes incorporate dog fur when I'm creating fluffy dogs. I give 20% of my dog portrait profits to the last chance hotel, a Cornish charity, helping sick dogs and pets that cannot be rehomed.
Since lockdown Rachel has raised nearly £900 for animal charities and is now doing Seaglass picture workshops to help raise more money. During the classes, everything to create a unique picture will be supplied(Although feel free to bring your own beach finds), and Rachel is there to advise along the way.
There will be three workshops in total, one in Falmouth, one in Helston, and the other in the Redruth area. All money raised will go to helping these charities.
Tickets for the workshop are £28 and will include tea or coffee.
