Rugby Preview: Falmouth RFC take on Teignmouth

By Joseph Macey 16th Sep 2021

Falmouth Rugby Club are in Tribute Western Counties West action this afternoon facing an away trip to sixth place Teignmouth.

Eagles captain Tom Spiller told Nub News:

"We are looking forward to this week's game at Teignmouth.

We raised our standards last week against a good St Austell side.

"We played over 100 minutes and defended for long periods of time but It shows that when we want to be in these games, we can be.

We've set the marker down now of what is expected in terms of effort in every game.

"This starts at Teignmouth and hopefully the result goes our way!

I have seen little clips of Teignmouth and they look to be a powerful running side who look to dominate the gain line and keep the ball alive.

"We will need to be at our best to win the game but I am sure we are more than capable of a result."

Kick off is at 2:30PM.

Team: A. Searle, A. Geach, D. Burroughs, S. Instance, T. Whittle, T. Spiller, T. Simmons, P. Garway-Templeman, J.Sullivan, K. Rodda, N. Carne, S. Firth, R. Pugh, O. Evans, T. Job. Reps: A. Bullock, O. Jones, E. Trotman.

Elsewhere, the second team are playing Veor on Redruth Albany's pitch. Kick-off 2:30PM.
