Falmouth Rotary Club has taken part in a tree planting project with a twinned club in France.

During their recent visit to their twinned Rotary Club in La Rochelle, Club President Michael Davies was invited to plant the final tree in the new woodland project that the French club had initiated.

Michael assisted the La Rochelle Aunis President Isabelle Laurent- Collin with the final tree.

The biodiversity project involved the planting of 812 trees on a 1.4-hectare site, available for the public to enjoy. The Falmouth Rotary Club is considering whether such a project could be carried out in the area.

Rotary is a non-political and non-religious charitable organisation with over 46,000 clubs spread over 166 countries worldwide, and a membership of 1.2 million individuals.

Falmouth Rotary Club welcomes new members of all ages and genders. Anyone interested in finding out more about the club is invited to contact the club secretary via the Greenbank Hotel and to attend one of the club's regular lunches held at the hotel each Monday.
