A vigil at The Moor, Falmouth to remember the lives lost due to violence against women has been cancelled.

The vigil was organised in the wake of the disappearance of Sarah Everard, 33, who went missing while walking home from a friend's house in Clapham.

Wayne Couzens, a Met Police officer, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court this morning (Saturday, March 13th) charged with her murder.

A doorstep event will take place at 9:30pm tonight instead following a High Court decision in London, the police have forced a cancellation of the events, including Falmouth's and across the country.

In Falmouth and Penryn, supporters have been tying white ribbons when out on walks today, these are in memory and honour for every woman who's experienced harassment, sexual violence or violence on the streets, in workplaces or their home.

"Find somewhere to tie a white ribbon, or If you see them add one too and please upload a picture here," the organisers added.

"This evening at 9.30pm we will be joining people around the country in a doorstep vigil, standing on our doorsteps and shining a light – a candle, a torch, a phone – to remember Sarah Everard and all women affected by and lost to violence," Reclaim These Streets said.
