Last week Nub News reported that council tax would rise in Devon and Cornwall to help increase police budget, Police and crime commissioner Alison Hernandez said the cash will provide the police with a revenue budget of £384 million covering 3,600 officers and will ensure 23 front desks are open at police stations.
It's yet to be seen how big a difference the increase on tax will make but Falmouth has already had the news that its police enquiry office has reopened this week alongside Truro, Bude, Newton Abbott, Tiverton, and Penzance.
All reopened offices will now be open 6 days a week from Monday to Saturday, 10 am until 3 pm. Residents should now be able to go and talk to one of the staff face-to-face to report a crime or an incident.
You can find your local enquiry office at this address; Falmouth Police Station, Dracaena Avenue, Falmouth, Cornwall, TR11 2ES.
