Police enquiries continue after hit and run near Penryn leaves cyclist with serious injuries

Police investigations are continuing after a hit and run incident near Penryn yesterday morning.
The incident happened at around 7am on the overtaking section of the road known as Retanna Hill (A394) towards Edgcumbe just after the sign for Retanna Holiday Park.
A cyclist was left with serious injuries in the early hours after being struck by a vehicle - and then left unconscious by the driver.
An ambulance crew attended the scene and the cyclist was treated for a punctured lung, as well as arm and shoulder injuries. He was reportedly taken to an intensive care unit at Treliske Hospital.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson added:
"Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the A394 soon after 7am on Tuesday 20th April, involving a cyclist and an unknown vehicle.
"The driver of the vehicle left the scene and police enquiries are continuing.
