Devon and Cornwall Police has said that officers are seeking witnesses after an elderly woman was seriously injured in a collision on the A39.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Emergency services were called around 10.55 am on Wednesday 14 June after a single-car collision at Carnon Gate roundabout, Devoran.

"A Silver Honda Jazz was in collision with the roundabout and a lamppost.

"The driver, from the Falmouth area, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Treliske Hospital.

"Response and roads policing officers attended along with the ambulance service. Officers would also like to thank members of the public who assisted at the scene.

"The road was closed for four hours while an examination of the scene took place and the vehicle was recovered.

"Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and requesting any witnesses to contact them. They are also appealing for any relevant dashcam footage."
