The Police and Falmouth Town Council have launched an appeal to identify four individuals responsible for a spate of graffiti across Falmouth.

On the dates of 17th and 18th January, the group graffitied various locations from Market Street in the Town Centre as far as Castle Beach and Tunnel Beach along the seafront, including numerous sites in between.

Falmouth Town Council sites, BT junction boxes, local business and residential sites were indiscriminately defaced with spray cans in a "mindless" spree of vandalism.

A spokesperson for Falmouth Town Council said:

"These individuals have been using the quiet streets of the COVID-19 pandemic as an opportunity to engage in vandalism while agencies are engulfed in COVID-related issues. This is a time for everyone

to come together in solidarity, not take advantage of the situation to deface public property.

"The group comprises of 3 males and 1 female, all white and between the ages of 16 and 25. They are likely to be Falmouth residents."

The Police and Council are sharing images/clips that show the group on Arwenack Street during the early hours on 18/01/21.

The clip (above) shows graffiti damage being committed by the group in an alleyway off the main street of the town centre.

Falmouth Town Council added:

"We urge members of the public with any information to contact the local police via Crime Stoppers.

"Your help could lead to the perpetrators being held accountable for their abuse of our beautiful town. Anyone who has information that could assist the police in their investigation is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111, quoting crime reference number CR/004279/21."
