Plans for a boathouse on the foreshore just downstream from The Pandora Inn, Falmouth have been withdrawn.

The boathouse was planned to be built Creekside, Restronguet.

Nub News reported earlier this week that the plans had been greeted largely with frustration by residents and customers of the pub, which you can read here.

The Pandora Inn wrote on social media:

"The Pandora Inn is really pleased to be able to let you know that the planning application to build a very large boathouse just downstream from the pub and in full view of the pontoon has been withdrawn.

"We would like to thank the applicants for cancelling their planning application and preserving the beauty of the creek."

In a letter withdrawing the plans, Andrew Golay of Enhance Land and Planning on behalf of Amadea and Simon West said:

"At every step in its preparation, the environmental impact of the building has been a leading consideration in the design. However, it has come to light that the application is causing a good deal of

concern for local people and patrons of The Pandora Inn.

"Amadea and Simon show a great deal of love for the area around Restronguet, and never wanted to cause upset. We all genuinely feel the proposal is sensitive to the areas scenic values, being modest,

beautifully formed, and finished in natural materials that complement its waterside setting.

"Notwithstanding this, please accept this email as confirmation that we wish the application to be withdrawn."
