Penryn's KLOTH (Kernow Library of Things) has launched a new crowdfunding appeal to continue taking the project forward.
Daisy, Edwin, Fréa and Jenni, all residents of Falmouth and Penryn, began KLOTH back in 2017 with the aim to provide a substantial resource to give the community access to things they either can't afford to own, don't have the room to keep or just wouldn't use very often.
Nub News spoke to KLOTH on the scheme back in September as they opened their new premises on Quay Hill, which you can read here.
Most of the funds raised will go towards stocking the library with a range of exciting new things, some it towards insurance and promoting KLOTH through leaflets, social media and posters.
After reaching their first target KLOTH has now set a new target to raise funds to buy an E-Cargo bike, to start to deliver items locally to people who need them.
Fréa Lockley, KLOTH Founder and Director told Nub News:
"A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us so far, we have got two weeks to go and we have set a stretch goal to get an E-Cargo bike so we can really start putting some of the plans for carbon-neutral and caring for the environment.
"That is the whole ethos behind KLOTH really, helping the community and beginning to think differently about the way we do everything."
Some of the money will be used to purchase items that people want to borrow, with KLOTH issuing an appeal this week on Facebook to people asking what they want to see in the library.
People have replied to the appeal with a variety of different items including, bolt cutters, window cleaners, carpet cleaner and a pressure washer.
"The biggest thing from the crowdfunder is to fill the place with new things and particularly finding out from people what would be most useful to them, we are so grateful by everyone's support and generosity so far," Fréa added.
The crowdfunder has around two weeks left with the total standing at £3,500 so far.
