Local pirate enthusiasts, SeaGriffin Games, have launched their new game, Dice Splice, on Kickstarter this week, raising over half of their target in just 3 days.

Following the launch of their hugely popular game Pirates of Penryn, Caitlin Russell and Matt Tweed have launched a new tabletop game on Kickstarter, hoping to raise funds for its mass production.

The game is dice-based, combining luck of the throw with tactical skill and a steady hand.

The game has been previewed already, prompting game reviewer Die Rollin to explain:

"It's the game you can take round to families and parties, it's a game you can take round and enjoy with friends…it's a fantastic game…great, great fun."

Speaking about the campaign, Caitlin said:

"Dice Splice is designed to be fun, tense and competitive for all ages. We have been overwhelmed with the level of support from reviewers and from the donations we have so far received, and would like to thank everyone who has so far pledged to make Dice Splice a reality in 2021."

The game has 81 bright coloured dice that players must match by colour or symbol to stack high on the pirate planks. But as the stack becomes more perilous, the loser will be the one to make the stack tumble.

This unique game is now available to pre-order from Kickstarter, with the game expected to be delivered in May 2021. For people wanting to support local businesses for Christmas, there is the option for a gift voucher to let the receiver know that there is a game on the way, or you can pledge to receive Pirates of Penryn, the first game from SeaGriffin Games, in time for Christmas, as well as Dice Splice. Pledges start from just £1.
