When the lockdown was announced and lots of establishments closed popular Penryn fish and chip shop Nemo's had a decision to make, taking the option to stay open and carry on serving.
The shop, based on St Thomas Street, has been busier than ever, with customers old and new flocking to grab their fish and chip order.
Owner Bryan Martin took the decision to stay open as they are primarily a takeaway and were staying open "unless told otherwise."
The shop has been strict with its cleaning regime and social distancing, allowing two people in the shop at once and people waiting outside for their orders.
Zoe Parkinson, an employee at Nemo's, told Nub News:
"Bryan decided to stay open because we are a takeaway and because everywhere else was closing we were really busy which is good for us. The first day we were open was a bit quiet but then everyone flooded in.
"We have lots of people come from all over that didn't realise we were open, we had people that don't normally come to us so it has just been like the summer rush.
"Business has been alright, Bryan found it quite hard at one stage because we thought we were going to have to shut because one of our suppliers closed but one of our suppliers did stay open so that worked out okay."
The team has been limited after members went into self-isolation which left the remaining workers (Bryan, Zoe and Charlie) stretched, despite that Zoe says she loves working and they have just been carrying on as normal.
She added:
"I am working forty hours a week which is ten more than I usually do but I just carry on, I love work anyway so it doesn't matter to me."
