Penryn College has announced its Head Student and Deputy Head Student team for the 2022/23 school year.
Following an application and interview process, Year 11 pupils, Robert and Isabella, have been appointed as Head Students, alongside a Deputy Head Student team consisting of Mimi, Sophia, and Maddie.
These pupils will be supported by a wider team of Senior Prefects and Prefects in operating Penryn College's Student Council, Student Voice (where students express their opinions on school life), events, and much more.
In a recent interview, Head Students, Robert, and Isabella, both expressed their delight in taking on their new roles and reflected on what they are most looking forward to in the months ahead.
"I feel privileged to have been presented with such a position within the school, and I hope that I can fulfil it to its full potential," said Isabella.
"The idea that a student like myself can have a say in deciding what is best for our education and helping students feel comfortable and confident within their school life is fantastic. I am really looking forward to working with the Prefects and Senior Prefects to create a closer community within Penryn College," Isabella continued.
And Robert said: "I first learned about the Head Student role in Year 7, and since then I have been hopeful of being chosen, but I didn't get my hopes up too high, so I was happy to find out about my new role."
"I am looking forward to working on all the changes that the Prefect team has planned. Everyone on the team has great ideas for what we can do to make the school a better place, and I am excited to help bring them into reality," Robert added.
