A Chinese takeaway in Penryn had to stop taking orders early because they were so busy on their first evening of reopening.

Choy Hung in Penryn, which announced it would be reopening last week, stopped taking orders at 7.30pm on Wednesday as they couldn't keep up with the demand.

They said:

"Wow what a night!

"A bit crazy but thanks for all your custom and so sorry for the long waits, we had to stop taking orders at 7.30.

"Our cooks tried to keep up as we knew we were going to be busy but wow, was mega busy and couldn't get off the phones to call, as every time we picked up someone was on the end!

"Sorry once again for the long wait we tried our best to keep you happy and hope not too many were disappointed."

Residents seemed happy to have the takeaway back despite the wait times, however.

One resident wrote:

"A long wait but well worth it. The food was excellent! Thanks to all of you."

Another resident said:

"Hopefully people will be a bit more patient with you. You done an amazing job."
