Local photographer Michael Amos has shared stunning photos of basking sharks surrounding a paddleboarder in Porthcurno last week.

Michael, a Penryn-based photographer, is studying a degree in Marine and Natural History Photography at Falmouth University.

He is a keen nature photographer who specialises in, "documenting the beauty of the natural world and our relationship with the landscape and its wildlife."

Whilst out in Porthcurno last week, Michael caught six basking sharks swimming close inshore below the cliffs.

Cornwall has been seeing basking sharks pop up all over the place at the moment, with AK Wildlife Cruises also sharing photos on Easter Sunday of the sharks getting up close to their boat.

"You really get a sense of the size of this shark when you see it swimming alongside the paddle boarder," Michael added.
