Pendennis Shipyard named in top 100 apprenticeship employers

Apprentices studying at The Cornwall College Group (TCCG) will benefit from working with one of the best apprenticeship employers in the UK.

Pendennis Shipyard has been listed in the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers by the Department for Education, ranked at an impressive number 35 in the national league table.

As a top-performing college for apprenticeships in the South West, the Group currently trains 57 learners with Pendennis.

Rory Mason, vice principal for quality of education at TCCG, expressed "tremendous pride in our partnership with Pendennis."

"It's truly remarkable to be the top-performing college for apprenticeships in the South West, working alongside an outstanding company acknowledged as one of the top apprenticeship employers in the UK," Rory added.

Toby Allies, managing director at Pendennis Shipyard, said: "We are extremely proud of the fact that in the 25th anniversary year of the apprenticeship scheme we have been ranked number 35th in the whole country of apprenticeship employers. We consider training an integral part of anyone's career at Pendennis and it is at the core of our company's DNA."

Steve Thompson, director of businesses, innovation, and partnerships at TCCG, extended his congratulations, calling it "a fabulous accomplishment."
