After a remarkably successful poetry event at the Falmouth Library in May with performances from local artists at an event called Becoming Mum and Dad During Lockdown, accomplished spoken word poets Lauren Gauge and Rebecca Ryan are set to host the 1st edition of 'Poetic Licence' at The Poly on Thursday 29th June from 8 pm.
It will be a creative collaboration that celebrates the summer and lighter times with a heady mix of spoken word, cocktails, and open mic slots. Solskinn coffee house and cocktail bar, upstairs at The Poly will create the perfect backdrop for this exciting evening of poetic play.
It is the first event in what they hope will be a series of events under the same title that they intend to run to bring together and meet the community of spoken word artists and poets from across the county, especially Falmouth, Redruth, Truro, Penzance and the surrounding areas.
The event is open to anyone, whether to perform or to sit back and enjoy. Lauren and Rebecca are very much looking for new, emerging, and seasoned talent from around the county to perform at the event, so if you're a first-timer, an old hat, or somewhere in between, they would be thrilled to welcome you on stage to share this event with them and make it an unforgettable evening.
You can get in touch about booking an open mic slot by emailing: [email protected]
Tickets are released and are now available: Lauren Gauge & Rebecca Ryan: Poetic Licence - Talks - What's On - The Poly at Falmouth
